Here we go, there is no stopping us now:) We are now officially blogging. It is amazing all of the new things available to keep you in contact with family and friends. It is wonderful. As you all know we relocated to Florida in August. We made it just in time for Tropical Storm Faye. It was a very nice initiation to life during hurricane season . I guess it is best to always jump feet first:) From the moment we arrived in Florida we were in love. The landscape is so lush and green, the sea is beautiful and you have so much to explore outdoors. We have been to so many places since we arrived. We have been to islands, nature preserves, forts, historical monuments, old cities and many beaches. We seem to be on the run almost constantly. We love this. Vegas was a great place for us as well, but there was no where near as much to do outdoors. The children are loving the new places to explore and are so amazed to see so many animals in the wild. Something I am still getting used to. We have some rather pesky raccoons who insist on visiting our back porch nightly.
The kids adjusted to school amazingly well. They love all of the extra programs that the school offers and have made many friends. They never did have a problem with that. Dyllan is also loving his first year of school. They are all doing well with the academics and also with the extra activities. Matthew is part of the science club and spends all of his lunches with them. He is currently growing his garden. He also has a group of toads that he brings home every weekend to care for. Much to my great joy;) He is also part of a math club. He enjoys any clubs or extra activities.
Brandon jumped into the social scene at school right away. He has so many friends, as usual. He seems to be a little bit of a class clown and enjoys spending time with his many groups of friends. He is also doing well with his school work and is enjoying playing sports at school. Brandon will he starting a hip hop dance class after the new year. He is very excited:)
Dyllan LOVES his new school. He has done so well in adjusting. He has a lot of friends and loves his teacher. He comes home with all of his great artwork and all of his assignments and we are so proud of him. He is also very helpful and enjoys helping out his teacher whenever he can. We encourage this and enjoy seeing him be so helpful. He worked at a lemonade stand at school to raise money for juvenile diabetes.
Anjolie is enjoying her first year of being home alone. I have been keeping her very busy with many activities. She has a lot of little girl friends here so she has been busy doing things with them. She is also taking ballet this year and she loves it! It is so nice to watch her dance. She is so tall and graceful. One of her favorite weekly activities is gong to the Jacksonville zoo and gardens. We have the yearly pass and go there weekly. She loves to feed the giraffes and look at all the animals. She never tires of it.
Rodolphe is doing very well with business. He has set up a new business base and is keeping very busy. He has a wonderful office right on the river landing downtown. He is now with Klaidman Realty. His office is in the tallest building downtown. You can see it from everywhere. The kids love that. We are very excited that business is starting to become very busy here and we definitely can see this was the right choice for us.
I will be starting nursing school in January. After a very competitive process I was chosen to be one of 25 students accepted into the nursing program. I will be graduating with my BSN and then continuing my education to receive my MSN. I am very excited about this. I have always wanted to go back into the nursing field and would love to work with a well known trauma unit. I have missed trauma since the day I left the Army and always knew I would go back. I love the fast pace and I love knowing I am truly helping someone. I plan to train in emergency medicine and work with a trauma helicopter unit. Thank you very much to all of you who gave me such wonderful letters of recommendation. They were greatly appreciated.
As you can see we have had many exciting changes. I will continue to keep you all updated on our weekly happenings. They wont be as long as this initial update, as I plan to do them weekly. Lucky for you:) We miss all of you and look forward to hearing your comments!!Love,
The Bruns

Jessica,
Your blog is amazing. The pictures are great and you have done a fine job of bringing us up to date on all of your activities.
It is particulary good to know that the children are doing well in school and that they are involved in many activities. No doubt you had a good Thanksgiving.
Kathy and I flew to Austin and spent a few days with Bea, Ton and the two boys.
All are well.
I don't know how you find the time, but keep up the good work.
Love
Grandpa Ernie
